Lowdown Ballroom is a rentable performance arts and multi-use space located in the basement of a residential home in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, WA. It is available to rent for private and group rehearsals, meetings, classes, workshops and special events. ​​​​

RENTAL REMINDERS
DO NOT

Use or block driveways
Parking or blocking either or both private driveways is prohibited 24/7. Violators will be towed at their own expense.

Disrupt other renters
If you arrive early, please wait in the outdoor seating area (in extreme weather, go directly into the coat room and avoid sitting in the main ballroom area.

Arrive too early or stay too late
Exit the space promptly at the end of the rental period. If you need time for set-up or tear-down, add this time into your reservation.

Use restricted materials
Except for temporary use of painter’s / gaffer’s tape, please do not use any other products on the surfaces of the space. Use of talcs or powders, confetti of any kind, glitter, rice, fog machines, bubbles, fireworks or anything similar on the premises are strictly prohibited.

Take garbage, recycle or food waste bins outdoors
Leave all receptacles indoors. If you need outdoor bins, please bring your own.

Allow kitty visitors to stay
Our neighbor kitties are VERY curious and on occasion make their way into the ballroom when the door is left open. Please give them pets and send them on their way. ​

Please do so especially when leaving the space, out of respect for residents and neighbors.

Please wear clean, non-marking soles only. Clean up any spills immediately.

RENTER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

The conduct of all persons in the space during the rental period
Renters and their guests are to follow all safety and legal standards, including following all city and state regulations, and obtaining any necessary permits or licenses, as well as insurance coverage when applicable.

Loss, Theft or Damage of Lowdown Ballroom property during the rental period
Any theft, property damage to ballroom property caused by renters and/or guests will be the financial responsibility of the renter.

Contacting the authorities in the event of emergency
Per our Video Surveillance Policy, incident footage can be secured up to 4 days following an incident, and be provided directly to authorities upon request.

Compliance with all applicable alcohol regulations
Renters must obtain necessary permits (e.g., Banquet Permit or Special Occasion License), and comply with ALL rules of the permit. Read more about permitting requirements here: WA State Liquor & Cannabis Board.
